For me there are only three responses to a piece of work-yes, no and WOW! I always aim for the WOW! But in order to do that you as a designer need to realise perfection, and perfection isn’t when there isn’t something left to add, but instead when there is nothing left to take away. We can fall in love with our ideas, and if that idea doesn’t do the job, we can always learn to love another. Graphic design is the ability to recognise something in an instant, it’s a way of communicating our ideas and skills in a way that attracts people and conveys a meaning, a feeling or an idea. It’s a way of showcasing and framing your work and unlike a painting that dries, digital design never dries, it can always be tweaked adjusted or fixed until it reaches perfection.
This showcse of work is a collection of designs generated for personal experimental progress and practice but also for outside clients
“DIGITAL DESIGN IS LIKE PAINTING, EXCEPT THE PAINT NEVER DRIES.”(NEVILLE BRODY)
I’ve always had a passion for graphic design, ever since taking my GCSE’s. The way that you can manipulate images and typography in a way you could never do by hand, and with such ease using software such as Photoshop and illustrator. But to do all these things in such a way that remains appealing and displays what you want becomes an art and a skill. This is a technique I constantly aim to improve with new and intuitive methods.
Many of my works have been designed for outside clients including business cards, posters and also campaigns. Although it’s a constant laborious task sat behind a computer for hours, it’s a form of work I enjoy doing.
