Previous Project
Next Project
This project involved the design of a child’s set of toys, involving the use of mathematical moments. The scales were required to equally balance 10x2p coins and 100g of sweet. To make the aesthetics of the scales appealing to children the product was designed as a native Indian totem pole that is constructed by the user stacking multiple blocks together.

Design and model a set of working Toy Scales suitable for children aged 4-7 years using moments of area to balance un-uniformed weights. The product should, educate and inform children of social and economic values in a playful way.
Children don’t have boundaries, for them there is a list of endless possibilities. They are the most creative, imaginative people. But that all gets lost over time, if you let it! Designing for a child allows you to discover what they want, and what they necessarily need.
